There is not one way, but many ways.

At Broadway Children's School, our programs reflect the belief that every child is unique and special, and we nurture and encourage that sense of individuality so that each child will develop within his or her own framework.

We view ourselves as partners with the parents and act as a supplement to the learning that children receive at home. Like their children, all parents are unique and special as well, and we recognize that they must develop their own frameworks within which they will raise their children.

With this approach and by providing an exciting, creative environment, our goal is to help each child develop competency in all aspects of his or her person: in the social, emotional, intellectual, creative selves that make the "whole child".

We want each child to learn to work and play independently, yet be able to accept help from others, and be willing to help others. We want them to broaden their language skills; to be curious about the world in which they live; to feel free to explore that world in appropriate ways; and to develop a self-confidence that allows them to make mistakes.

BCSO follows the Developmental Appropriate Practices (DAP), recommended by the National Association of Young Children (NAEYC).
